Yes hello and hi I am the Prince of the great country of Nigeria and i would like to purchase the item that you have for sale that I have seen. I would like to offer you US$25,000 for the item because I have a collection of them in my palace. Because of the recent turmoil in my country the banks will only sign a autenticated verified and secured cashiers check for an amount greater than US$50,000. I will send you a check verified and insured for that amount. Once you recieve the check, i will only ask that you may deposit it and return to me the balance in a cashier's check. For doing the favour to me, i will include an extra US$5,000 in the price for you to keep. Please to help me and my situation for I like your item and would want my collection for it.

    Thank you,

    Nigerian Royal Prince Nambia Mutsotapsa

285Ferrari has it right, that item still belongs to the lienholder, IIRC it's the Bank of Scotland.....the rest of the car was returned to the Factory? Does anyone know for sure????

Depending, IMO ONLY, on the timing of the 'find'...if it was removed during the accident investigation it's 'evidence tampering" .......if it was later and just found 'missed in the bushes" I suppose it's a 'fair game' find, I walked the site of the Houston Enzo accident and found shards and lumps of the engine block melted on the ground, but's that's a little different from what we have here......it that's indeed tracable, I'd be careful..it appears it is.

I was into negotiations for the nose badge of the burned Houston car, when all of a sudden the seller realized his exposure!

I think that gas cap belongs on P 4/5. I'll trade you an autographed photo of P 4/5 for it.

I think that is a GREAT idea!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Trade it to Mr. G and it'll continue to "roll on" in spectacular fashion!

If you sold it to me, it'd just languish in the box with the melted parts of Dahr Jamail's car......anyway I'm broke.. I spent all my money on these girls....

You could send everything BUT the gas cap on, to the Bank of Scotland.......they are rebuilding the VIN, I understand?

Suprised they have not called you, about the rest of your discards.....

Sell it to Jim. It would probably just end up like this thing I picked up a few months ago if it were in my hands! :)

Sell it to someone who will actually use it!

    Yes, perhaps...

...but P 4/5 would not pass Classiche with this item equipped. Also, changing components on P 4/5 would remove its stock value and heavily modified Ferraris do not bring much at auction.

...and we all know how concerned Jim is about passing Classiche! :)

In fact, that's the very reason I have even met Jim. A couple years ago when they would not allow him entrance at Cavallino, I met Jim at the SuperCar show along the Intercoastal. GORGEOUS CAR!!

I have to admit, there is a certain appeal, and dare I say poetic justice, to having said gas cap reside on the P4/5. Hmmm......

You guys are missing the joke........The P4/5 uses an Enzo cap, this is an exact match..

He just wants it (I'm guessing) for "bragging rights" to the Detriech Story.....

    I concur...you don't "brag" very much......:D :D :D :D

I was using the figure of speach, it wasn't very accurate...so have we heard from the OP?

What did he pay for this relic?
I almost landed Dahr's nose badge.......

Add to that, should a P 4/5 Competizione be built for endurance racing, it will more than likely be relegated to the 24 Hours of LeMons as a result of its de-Classiched predecessor. :)
