Okay! Just thought I would throw it out there.
That thing must have been really wrenched down.

I too have had this issue. Unable to screw off the cap. Drove it to the service guys, 10 mins away and they got it off. They said it's common due to metal on metal. So, they put a rubber gasket inside the top of the cap and job done. No more issues.

The rubber gives a good seal as well. I notice much more pressure escaping when filling up.

How about one of those rubber strap oil filter wrenchs?

Temps had swung up and down and I had put it on pretty tight because I got a check engine light form having it o too loose... I had to get my friend who is a retired NFL player to turn it with BRUT strength, but it was tough even for him to get it off. I am a big guy and I couldn't do it...

Ahhh, the joys and quirks of Ferrari ownership. Bet you never had this problem with your Honda or Toyota! :D

I had the exact same problem wiht the 355 and was at the gas station on EMPTY. How embarassing!!
A guy came over to help and he finally gave up and walked away... I ended up going to my mechanic and he pulled it off
    with a big wrench.

On another note, I bought a new cap from Ricambi then the noticed a few days later the rubber seal had a big bubble in it.
Anyone think this is an issue (too much vacuum) I should look at or just a defective cap?
