    Sorry if this has been asked before. The gas flap didnt open. I realized you prob have to shut off engine first? If its in the manual, i prob didnt read it, prob cuz i was too xcited to drive it when i first got it. Is this consistent w ur experiences? Thx

    Actually I never tried to open it with the engine running... I'll give it a try next time.

    If needed, I think there is a mechanical cable accessible on the right side of the engine compartment.

    I believe you also have to pull the key.

    Haha. Engine off, key out, open flap. All is well with the world again.....Ferrari idiosyncracies. At least they dont want you to blow ur Fcar up. Would kill resale.

    Filled up yesterday and did not have to remove the key to open the filler cap. MUCH easier than my 2010 California.

    Just to keep things interesting, my wife's F430's gas flap needs the ignition on to work -- the exact opposite of the 458. The Italians (sigh).
