    I have had problems with my gas flap forever, did the WD40, replaced the connector above the wheel arch, nothing helped. The solenoid would work repeatedly once the flap had been opened manually, but never over the course of a tank full.

    I took the little black plastic receptacle for the plunger off and carefully radiused the edge where the plunger goes in with a Dremel tool, just cleaned the flashing and smoothed the sharp edge.

    Now it works properly every time.

    I wonder why a full tank would not allow the flap to open. Surly a full tank of fuel cant possibly affect the flaps operation.
    Good that you have sorted the problem though:)

    What I meant was that in the time it took to drive a tank full the next time the flap wouldn't open.
