hello, I have the following problem on my 3.2QV 1987 : The gas pump is running as soon I turn the contact key on. I think something has been modified in the electrical circuit before. I have read the owners manual which indicate that a special wire has to be plugged on the distribution head, but min seems correctly plugged... If anyone has an idea, it would help me very much. thanx all, .
The fuel pump on my '83 (Euro) Mondial QV also runs when I turn the key on. It does however, time out if the engine isn't started.
It is not normal process. I saw this confirmed in the manual. This is the process if You dsiconnect a dedicaced wire, when You want to make flowrate measurments without the engine on. Also it is not good because it gives pressure to the injectors and then, when starting the engine, it takes time to turn on. Also it consum current for nothing.
oliv928 -- A couple of questions to start: 1. Do you have a safety switch on your airflow metering unit? 2. Are all of your relays exactly as described in Section 5 of the 474/87 OM or as shown in the Mondial 3.2 488/87 Wiring Diagram -- i.e., no obvious wrong relays, no wiring modification/jumpers, etc.?
well steeve i dont know at all. i will try to look at what you said. or bring the car to a specialist and ask him to check that. thanx
You should just be able to look for yourself -- see this example (I just want to make sure that you really have a 1987 and not a 1988 CH version): Image Unavailable, Please Login
