I have an 83 308 qv and always put shell 93 oct. in it. I was just wondering now that its up around $2 a gallon and the way it sucks it up, especially if you are putting your foot in it. Does anyone just put 87 in theirs? Is 93 overkill? I think it just calls for 87 in the manual but can't seem to find it. If it comes down to it, if 93 is what it should get then that is what I want in the car even if its more expensive. On the other hand if it is not needed why spend the money.

If your 308QV is a US version (i.e., 8.6:1 compression ratio) then it probably recommends 91 RON as the minimum octane in the OM (which is 86~87 AKI as labeled at US fuel stations) -- so why pay more?
