I wanted to post this pic of the Wurth product sprayed on the gas tanks as well as other areas of the Dino. This seems to be the exact stuff the factory used as I see absolutely no difference from the factory coating. It is put on with a body schutz splatter gun which Wurth also can supply. The gun screws right on the top of the can.

I will snap a few of my tanks tomorrow. I painted them dull aluminum which I think is incorrect. The raw finish of the Worth product is the correct finish. I figured the beige color would get dirty fast and be hard to keep looking good so I went with the aluminum color.

Is that a Lancia Stratos in the background? You've got a couple of Dino powered cars to play with I see!

Stratos is a blast to drive. This is my Stradale. I have a full-bore 24-valve comp car being done in Italy. The comp cars are much more sure footed than the road cars. I threw the Speedlines and 15" Michelin TB5's on for a little more grip than the old Michelin 205 VR14's. This is a Dino thread so I will post one photo of the old girl and let it go.

Why not call Worth USA and just have them ship it overseas? Assuming it qualifies as non-hazardous material, that shouldn't be a big deal.

This is the original color I have seen on Dino fuel tanks. This is from Jon's USA car and looks the same as what was in my Euro car.

That color is the raw Worth product finish with age and road grime on it. It is a fairly light beige when new.

Can't buy direct from Wurth USA unless you have an account with them.

    Anyone have an online source?

I purchased directly from Wurth USA six or so months ago. Called 1-800-WURTH-USA (1-800-987-8487). Some products are only sold in multiples of 2 or three. They also come up on Ebay once in a while.

Hi Grant, Your tank in that photo looks more of an off white, maybe just the lighting. Just went over and looked at your thread. Good luck it takes ages sometimes just to sort out the smallest detail.all part of the fun i suppose! From your photo at the early part of the thread with your green car and the red one next to it, Is that your car as well?

    Hi Graham
yes it's an off white creamy color, if i find a source in the UK i will let you know.

Yes that's my boys dreaming of getting their hands on my car's [no chance] The red one is my replica Daytona based on a 5.3L jag V12 the sad part is it turns more heads the the real one because it's red. A taxi driver nearly wet his pants when he saw it the other day. Shouting out of his window " now that's what i call a car" at the same time as trying to take a photo with his phone at the lights. I even had a guy salivating over it who said he raced vintage Ferraris last year, he even invited me back to his garage to look at his cars but i was on the Yesteryear run at the time and could not stop.

I finally got Wurth UK to talk to Wurth USA and the feedback came as " Yes we have a batch left on the shelf, but it's gone hard and due to demand we shall not be selling any more"!
    So back to square one.

After over seven months and one failed batch received, Wurth finally received the underbody seal beige from Germany so it is now available in a limited quantity. I have an account and and have purchased extra as I wasn't sure how much I'll need. If anyone is having difficulty obtaining I might be able to help.

when i took my tanks out last year, the back of the tank was gold coloured, not beige. I have no reason to believe it had been resprayed at anytime or can i vouch for it being original.

However Supeformance had some tanks in stock some time ago, Ferrari originals and they were gold too

I think this gold tone to the tanks is just the aging of the beige splatter coat. You could scrape off a little of the top coat on an inconspicuous spot and see. I could see no difference from the Wurth product on my original tanks.

Yes it is a shade of gold although Wurth describe it as beige and it does appear to darken with age.
As mine was so intact albeit stained and mottled I just sprayed some silver Hammerite over the top and they dont look too bad.
I kept the original coating as i suspect it has some sound deadening properties as well as corrosion protection.
