    Replacing the aluminum cover with the Hill model. Owned car for 8 years and now it has finally gave up the threads on the plug and cover. Taking off the old one.....no sealer I can see? Can it be? Gotta use something. It is a plate attached to a plate. Help buddies????

    Are you saying there’s no gasket or are you asking what sealer to use? If you have a gasket and want to seal it so you won’t ever have a problem in the future, use Hondabond.

    Well, in taking it apart I noticed no gasket or sealer compound whatsoever...seems like the plates just bolted together....

    Wow. How did it not leak?

    I’d get a gasket for it and use Hondabond. It all has to be squeaky clean before you put it back together.

    You could've ate off it after my cleaning, RTV black was the recommended sealant. Worked fine. Thanks again! Where to buy Hondabond anyway? Amazon?

    I would have recommended loctite 518 or prematex ultra black

    There is no paper gasket intended in that location. RTV only.
