I filled the car this afternoon about 12pm (about 70 degrees out). She was not overfilled. Normal pump cut-off. I left her home outside with a car cover and partial shade & about 2pm noticed a slight gas smell. Now about 75 degrees outside. I cracked the cap & the normal air came out. then gas came pouring out. I took the cap off and about 1 to 2 quarts came pouring out. then it gurgled a little and the gas went back down the filler neck. I've never seen this before on any car. Is it simply expansion? of course I poured gallons of water around to flush the gas away.
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355/406509-95-355-gas-flowing-out-tank.html Interesting, two people in one week, wonder if there's some kind of valve that is aging and starting to go bad in these cars...
Interesting I filled my 98 355 up today. Normal fill. Pulled the nozzle out and gas came gushing out the fuel inlet and down the side of the car. Perhaps a pint or so. Huh...
Hell, it can't hurt: I bow to Ferrari and all things that Enzo stands for. I agree to pay my fair share of Ferrari tax..with a smile. I understand that being left at the side of the road in a Ferrari is expected and part of the privilege of ownership. I shall NEVER take for granted any given mile that goes under my car with flawless precision (knowing that an equally ugly mile of ownership awaits just beyond the bend). <insert something about belts here> Amen & alleluia
I originated the other thread. Car went into the shop today. Will advise when i hear back. Hopefully F-Car gods not too angry. Nobody around me at the track (where mine happened) had seen this before and now all these others. Wow!
