F1 on the track, gated for streets for me. For me the control is better when you are at 160mph and have to break hard for a corner as you are downshifting.
In the street gated can be just as fast and more fun for sure.

I did see that before, but just agreed to bust on the F1 guys. As I have stated before, if you want a fast car by todays standards, the F355 is not one of them. Johnny, I agree all of the above can affect times.

There are faster cars for sure but still pretty good for a small displacement sports car.

Considering the jump from 328 to 348 and 348 to 355, the replacement 360 wasn't much faster. (6mph more top speed but similar 1/4 mile from what I can find).

Also the same acceleration as a new Cayman S :)

the F1 is way faster, especially if your floor mat is pushed up under the excelerator pedal......

Your are right. It moves pretty good considering the displacement. But the newer cars are on another level.(Z06, GTR, 911TT,GT,458) The bar keeps getting raised. Good, but scary, because not everyone that buys some of these cars possess the skills to drive them safely.

I remember checking gear ratios and that the 355 F1 had a slightly different final drive ratio compared to the manual 355's. Slightly more conservative - geared more to top speed than acceleration.

I disagree on the safety stand point.

What you should say is the majority of drivers can't drive any car safely.

True but I think the case can be made that arriving at the scene of the accident more slowly will result in an increase in safety.
