    ok,

    One for those tech guy's

How would I connect up a 365 cable driven rev counter (part No 95400203) to a 400i engine?
Is it possible & what parts would I need?

Same question goes for a 365 speedo into a 400i

or is it easier to pull out the guts of the mechanical 365 gauges and retro fit electronic parts?

    You may ask why.......

Sorry to jump in without any on-point advice, but that is such a startling picture in your link I can't help myself. Maybe a relevant question would be, what transmission are you running? Another question I have is, did you hotrod the cams on that 400i or anything? What we need around here are some mountain motor strokers in the 7-8 liter range.

The transmission is a ZF 5 speed manual/stick shiftbox from an Aston Martin DB7 with home made adaptor plate. Standard Cams.

The speedo is an easier fix than the tacho - A Cable-X box (available from Abbot's in the U.S.) will convert the electronic speed signal supplied from an electronic sender to a (speedo) cable output. The speedo is calibrated using a number of dip switches inside the box).

To get the mechanical tacho output, you could use a right angle distributor drive (with a cable output) from a Daytona, C4 or 365GT4 2+2. I think this would be a direct replacement for the 400i right angle drive. You would then need the right angle cable drive from one of the same cars.

This is not likely to be a cheap solution, but it looks like you are not doing this job on the cheap in any case.

I assume that you have genuine Daytona Instruments. If so, they are now worth big money and it would be a shame to modify them.

    Thanks Bill,

    Yes I have original instruments.

Do any of you guy's out there have the distributor drive parts with the cable fittings that Bill has suggested for the Tacho drive that will fit to my 400i?

    Thanks
