G'day everyone. I have been lurking for a while and forgot to introduce myself. I have been a owner and Ferrari enthusiast for as long as I can remember. I have owned a number of Ferrari's over the years but sadly did not retain them all.

Currently I have a 575M F1 and a 512 TR. The 575M is my favorite and I will never part with it. I have owned the car for 12 months and brought it to Australia from the UK. It's a 04 model red with creme. It took a while to find the right one without shields and with a good history. Build number 52821.

The 575 just puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but then so do all Ferrari's.

FChat is a great forum and I look forward to spending time here with other like minded enthusiasts.

The 575 is a dream car for me. Someday I hope to make the jump from V8 to V8 and V12. Welcome. Wonderful cars. I like the license plate too.

Congrats on making it from lurker to poster :) you have a beautiful collection & the 575 is timeless.

Is there such a shortage of 575's in Oz that you needed to look to the UK?

Also I was wondering if you could fill me in on the taxes etc payable .. I guess it was still economically viable? I'm considering it for my F-cat but figured with import/lux car taxes it wouldn't make sense. I sent my E46 M3 back from Tokyo over 10 years ago, but the declared value was considerably lower than an Ferrari.

Thanks PV, Derek for the warm welcome. Derek I'm in the UK on business quite often and have a home there (I was born in Scotland) so I owned the 575 with the intention of using it while in the UK. But ended up deciding to bring it out to Australia.

If I recall at the time I decided to buy a 575 there was only 2 available for sale in Australia. So not that much choice like the UK or USA.

Got to dig those 12 cylinders.
