I finally worked up the courage to step out of Stuttgart for a moment, sign up & check in here… We’ve recently had restored (read: de-****ted) a 456 GT (6 speed) in Bianco Avus, this is my first dancing donkey, it’s a bit of a learning curve to say the least, but my word when all is well it’s a wonderful thing. Anyhow, looking forward to the banter… **inevitably you may ask for pics, so here is my Italian mistress Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you all for the warm welcome As to the original delivery location, it was originally delivered to Hong Kong, interestingly when I was researching I could only find one other RHD example in white, also a HK car (still there I believe). Image Unavailable, Please Login I have more somewhere, and I need to get some nice scenic shots done for this car.
Congratulations! White is very rare for a 456. Looks like it’s in reasonable condition? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
From my understanding it’s quite scarce white, I don’t know how rare by the numbers? Certainly this is what drew me to this particular car, it was mechanically excellent when I got it with all the $$ spent in the right areas, but it has just undergone a full body restoration (glass out, full tear down, inside & out repaint), I mean it was “ok” but in short someone had spent money to make it look rather terrible, so we had to undo all those crimes against Maranello and make it right again, no one big thing… just a cumulative effect of lots of little things, the good ole death by a thousand cuts Do it once do it right.. very happy with the work done.
Congratulations. That's a beautiful looking 456. I love the colour combination. Can I ask if you know when the valve clearances were checked? I must have looked at half a dozen of these things over the years, in every case, I could not find any evidence of the procedure being performed since delivery. One had over 100,000 kms on it.
Cheers mate, I appreciate it. A manual Bianco/Nero 456 is definitely a lovely machine. Congrats and enjoy mate.
Yes absolutely, this one was done in January 2023 as part of a larger scope of works. I think this is the one mechanical maintenance item where you're better off with a 456M due to them being hydraulic?
I prefer the look of the airbag steering wheel, well done. Whereabouts in Sydney are you? A few of us on here do the occasional breakfast run if you’re interested??
Image Unavailable, Please Login Congrat!! many us younger members here (under 60years old) thinks black rims are sh*t hot too
I don mind the airbag either... I am in the south (Cronulla area)... I am keen for a breakfast/coffee run for sure! I don't mind black wheels... I've a set of black Simmons for the track car, gotta bogan things up a bit here & there! Image Unavailable, Please Login Roger that.
Excellent, I’ll add you to our chat group, check your inbox Edit: I don’t seem to be able to add you, maybe Ian can as he started the conversation?? Otherwise I’ll let you know when the next run is confirmed
Oh that's nice. Not the bogan wheels, but rather the car. The 996 GT-3 variants look so tiny next to the modern junk.
