    a friend of mine who is not on Fchat has over tightend his gear box drain plug on his 360 while doing a gear oil change he believes he stripped the drain plug now says he unsure of cost I told him call dealer but i thought id ask here first ....

    The plug should have softer threads than the case - hopefully it's just a matter of buying a new plug, which is cheap.

    he has it without leaking and is afraid to even touch it on bit .. what if it is the cran case that striped ?

    put just a bit of aircraft gasket seal - permatex - on the threads when replacing plug. Works wonders.

    What's done is done. Why cry over spilled milk?

    You gave him the right advice. If he's that worried about it, he should take it to the dealer and have them look at it. Then he can get a professional opinion, they can make it all better and he doesn't have to worry about it any more. Problem solved.
