    i've been reading the manuals on the Mondial 8 and the 308QV. and noticed a difference in gearing. so i gather if one wanted to gear up/down you could use the gears from other models vs. machining new.

    Mondi 8:
    Idle gears 27/30 = 1:1.111
    1st 13/42 = 1:3.588
    2nd 17/36 = 1:2.353
    3rd 21/32 = 1:1.693
    4th 25/28 = 1:1.244
    5th 28/24 = 1:0.952
    R 13/38 = 1:3.247

    Diff 17/63 = 1:3.705
    Overall

    It looks like the mondail got the euro diff gears. The pinion is machined onto the output shaft, so you'd need the diff gear and output shaft.

    Are you thinking of going to the QV set-up? If so I'll swap you for my QV parts.

    sorry i'm not looking at swaping it was just something i noticed and it would explain the acceleration differences.

    looks as though the mondi has a shorter 1st & 5th however a taller diff.

    The gears don't appear to be that different. I would think more than gearing is the mondial is a heavier car? I don't think swapping would noticably increase acceleration.

    Edit:Actually according to The Original Ferrari V8 book, Mondial 8 and 308 QV US have the exact same gear ratios. What you have quoted above for the QV is the Euro ratios. Mondial 8 #'s are actually for Swiss 308 QV.
