Any thoughts on a Gear reduction started as advertized on ebay. I am "restoring" a 365 C/4 and wonder if while the engine is out for overhaul this is the tie to install one.
I have a blog tracking the progress, www.rpmvt.com, click the blog link.

The gear reduction starter on ebay is from BritishStarters.com and made by Gustafson Machine. I started a thread called "Modern Gear Reduction Starter...". Do a search on "Gustafson" and you will find the thread where these starters are discussed. I like mine. By the way, the photo on ebay is of my old starter and my new starter, taken by Gustafson before shipping it back to me.

Second the motion on Gustafson. They make the adapters and gears for most of the gear reduction starters out there. They use a Nippo Denso starter motor and make the adapters and gears for a variety of applications. They are very helpful, so you might want to contact them to find out if they can make one up for you the will fit the 365.

Great starters. Did one in a clients Queen Mother and we are going to have him build us one for the 212 in a couple of weeks. Spins the motor over like a turbine.
