Went on a long cruise today, and the car startet to get a gearbox/clutch noise, that kept getting louder.

The sound is a "whining", "rasping" kinda thing.
When Idling with the clutch pedal out it is really loud
When i press the clutch pedal down it goes away.
    The gears shifts just fine.
The gear oil is at max, and looks OK.
I used the ear/screwdriver metod while idling, and it really sounds like the bearings in the clutch. Perhpas, the throwoput bearing??

    Any Ideas here?

What is a likely failur here?

Throw out-release bearing is my opinion, best to have it looked at, usually best to replace the whole clutch assembly while its open and check and slave and master cylinder.

Had the same 3 weeks ago (along with shaftbearing problems). Had a new throwout bearing and the assembly supporting it. I oped for the hill engineering one meant for use in the 355. Works a dream.

remove bell housing & inspect throw out bearing , if not an obvious failure keep digging, when appling the clutch you disengage the trans so the issue can be there & its common for a 348,oh yeah ,stop driving it until problem is resolved,Good Luck

+1. The Hill Engineering throw-out bearing (which is an improved version of the original OEM F355 bearing) and required Hill Engineering bearing adapter are not cheap (about $1200.00 USD for the two of them), but there are of superior quality! Far, far better than the Ferrari OEM part. I would replace everything and re-surface the flywheel (if necessary) while you have everything apart. It will probably save time and $$ in the long-run. As they say "...pay me now, or pay me later"!
