Yesterday (holiday of course) when I got into the car to start it----no go even tho horns, lights etc were fine. Noticed that I couldn't get the gearbox to change from 1st gear in which I had parked the car in the garage to N.
Found the service mgr at home!!!!-he suggested to rock the car to unlock the gearbox-it worked-shifted into neutral and started.
It seems that if one parks the F1 car in gear a vacuum creates a locking of the gearbox.
So I (he) suggest(s) parking the car in N with P brake on.

I've had similar issues with my 360, maybe once or twice. After a couple of tries of turning ignition on then off, it came out of gear. I would be careful totally relying on the e-brake to hold the car on a hill. I do park the car in N whenever I'm on flat ground.

I park my 360 in first gear.

One suggestion, Marty. Have the F1 system checked for leaks, just in case.

I was always paranoid that something like that would happen. I always put the car in neutral when it was parked.

The 430 F1 manual says to park in 1st gear. In fact if you switch off with the car in neutral it beeps at you.

Bob's right. My 360 also whinges electronically if it isn’t parked in gear. Trust the hand brake? Ha! Have the dealer sort it out while the problem belongs to Ferrari.

hmmm, after a couple of times getting "stuck" in the first gear I have always thought that its one of those "charasteristics that make Ferrari a exotic" It isn't supposed to work 100%.... But hey, maybe that's just me. People usually take it with a smile when you jump out and rock the car, and then jump in and start it :) Always fun to amuse people !

Worse in my experience is that when stopped at a traffic light you get stuck in neutral.....you know Beep Toot Honk and the whole show, I have noticed that the Reverse gear tends to "slip in" easier in those situations.

edit: Above is concerning the 360 F1
