This is my first Ferrari so I'm learning as I go :)

I'm doing the gearbox mount on my 99 360, along with the motor mounts, thermostat and a manual swap.

I got the gearbox mount out today and the ears on the rear frame look really messed up. Are they supposed to be a hole, or are they horizontally oblong ?

How do I have a shop repair this? Weld a plate over it or fill the worn parts with weld?

The bolt was left loose. If tightened properly with flat washers on both sides it will be ok. Just be sure to make it tight.
Soy boy with a man bun did it last time. I don't care how bad the mount is, if the bolt is tight it won't do that.

That car is so far disassembled it looks like you are parting it out.

Interesting. It did have the washers on the inside and outside and was pretty tight so maybe it happened before and the last time the guy just tightened it and sent it? It's got 50k and a replacement clutch so that's been done at least once.

I'm doing a lot of repairs as I find more issues the more I tear into it. Oil seeping, wiring loom falling apart, loose wires and hoses, oily gunk in the engine bay, etc

It was the original mount.. It looks like the updated mount with the diamond sleeve in the middle will grab the mounting ears a little better too maybe and alleviate the issue.

Another vote for what Rifledriver said. Make sure the bolt is torqued to what it should be and the boogered up holes won’t be a problem.

You mentioned washers on the inside. Are there supposed to be washers in the inside? I haven’t changed the mount in my car yet, but washers in the inside doesn’t sound right.

When you say “inside,” you are referring to b/t the tab ear and the mount, correct?

The book has two types of washers ... two 8 and two 11. The parts diagram shows the pair 8 and 11 sandwiching the frame. I have to admit, I have not seen it that way, or I just plain old forgot ever seeing 8.

8 was only used in 1st gen mount. 2nd and 3rd gen mounts use large flat washer.

Just trying to clarify as I have a 2009 car, and it will help the OP also.

“Large flat washers” on the outside of the metal frame ears, or on the inside touching the gearbox rubber mount?
