Hi all, I like to know all about my car and looking at serial number for each part, but I don't know the S/N of my gearbox. Actually I don't know what he look like on a 355 ( same as 348 ? ) and I don't find any information about it in the owner's book. Could some here show us where is it and how it's work ? Idea of the range for the 355 ? Serial of the car, Assembly number, serial of the engine are sometime published but I don't remember read anythink about gearbox serial number.
Of course but what does it mean ? On your picture : 174037 - 421 this is the number ? What is the type ? All 355 in every market have the same type ?
I Googled "Ferrari 174037" and it appears that it is a gearbox type (there are several types). 174037 appears in the text on this catalogue page: https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Ferrari/355/355_(5.2_Motronic)/PartDiagrams/024/Clutch_Control I don't know why, but I only have a 3 digit serial number. Most serial numbers in the parts catalogue appear to be four digits. Anyway, the WSM shows this: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks @Qavion I guess the previous picture is from your car ? An Aussie 355 ? I have some pictures of 355 on lift, then I will check and try to find a logic in the numbering
My Aussie-delivered RHD 5.2 manual, Betrand... probably around the time my gearbox exploded. I'm not sure what that other number is... 21548(?)99
these last numbers come out of the cast so I don't think they are not any serial number or gearbox type. Gearbox exploded !
