Just changed my gearbox oil for some redline ns but, need to clarify something. The owners manual says 4 litres, Superperformance website says 4 litres. So I guess it take 4 litres but, I drained 5.6 litres out, weird.

    Any opinions chaps.

Search here "shift shaft seals". They're probably due for replacement.

In other words, the shift shaft travels through both sumps (engine and trans), when the seals fail then engine oil goes into the transmission.

Engine has oil pressure while running. The trans, not so much but does in this case.

I replaced mine with the X-seals (or Quad) from Verell.

    Unobtainium Supply Co.—HOME

He also has a tool for securing the fork detent springs and balls which make it easy to finely adjust their linkage. I'd loan you mine but round trip shipping (FL/UK) is probably the same cost as buying one.

BTW, really important that you replace these in their exact required locations.

2nd the quad seals and the tool. Don't do this job without either. I just did this last fall and it was the most satisfying work I had done on a vehicle in a long time, but I don't want to repeat it anytime soon. The quad seals are the best. Also did the shifter block at the same time, also from Unobtanium.
