New product in beta from Microsoft. I just used it and it picked up stuff that ad aware and spybot missed. . http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx Have fun,
While I have yet to use it, I have kept up w/Giant (the actual application/company that was purchased to get ahead on their app, which it is based upon) and also the news surrounding this. It is problematic:: - requires Internet Explorer on your system. So if it is removed, per the legal case (remember all that?), then you cannot use their application. - detects Windows Messenger Service, and advises you to disable it - detects competitor's information/hacks into the system and will remove/alert you of them. Because of the latter part, which is mainly with Spybot's immunize section, sure it will alert and detect far more items than Spybot or Adaware. But are you really counting the items here? Or the quality of the scan and how it does it's job? They have a ways to go with this application, but they are on a bad start. Tip: Stick with Mozilla, watch where you go, and you won't have any problems.
