    Hello!
Having a problem with the generator overcharging. Normally it charges 13.7v and when the battery light comes on it charges 16.8v. I suspect it could be the charge regulator. Anyone know the Bosch number for the Regulator. Anyone have any other suggestions.

    How old is your battery?

    Isn't it a NipponDenso?

Make sure the 15amp fuse next to the battery in the passenger footwell is ok. See (18D)

    Sorry, no photos of it.

The power from this goes to the alternator to tell it the state of the battery.

You are right. Got to me that it was bosch. The battery is about 3 years.

Hmmm..... Should be ok, but batteries these days have very poor quality.

If you check the fuse, I would check the connections on the battery to make sure they are secure.

Its not going to be a battery if it is charging at 16.8 volts- does the volts drop if you put all the lights on. Sounds more like volts regulator and best not to drive it until you get it fixed. You do not want to damage the electronics due to high volts

The cable, very busy complex cable, that goes to the alternator is subject to heat cycle degradation. Could this be your issue? It gets fried at the connection to the alternator and can cause big problems. Are you good at getting to the area, either by removing the cabin engine access panel and/or the under trays and look at that?

EDIT: might be able to look at the connections from the top with a scope I forget but you need to look to check that positive connection!
