You are right. Whilst I have yet to see the M, I have ordered it and hope to have it sitting alongside the tdf. Whilst on paper there may well be a question as to how tdf owners might feel, Ferrari know their business well enough to make the two very different experiences. I imagine the M will be nothing like as raw as the tdf, a less visceral experience, and will be heavier with more of the traditional GT or everyday abilities, such as Lusso type touch screen etc.
I really don't care much about the looks, cuz I'm sure it would be a good looking one! All I care is if Ferrari would add adaptive cruise control as options and HUD too, that would be so good and helpful for daily driving
I hope this time they will add ACC and HUD as options, I really think this is the perfect high tech we need for daily driving
I hope they make it sound better, especially at low rpm, I find my F12 lacking the sound until it hits 5000rpm, by then I'm driving too fast for public roads.
The tdf was enough of a struggle-I need a break, but you are correct, all I've decided is definitely black wheels and red callipers!
Ahahahahaah ... don't dare me ! I'm able to enter your garage at night and powdercoat your wheels while your'e sleeping. A surprise for breakfast Can't wait to be in 2017 to see the two side by side
I'm with you - was looking at an F12 as you know but think I'm going ahead to order the F12M for my NZ stable.
Exactly what I thought so I had the Novitec rear boxes and X pipe fitted with the remote control for the valves. Now it's just perfect, nice and deep, proper V12 sound where the standard car is too quiet but not too loud like a decat car. I highly highly recommend this set up.
Not to hijack the thread...but do you get any lights on the dash when replacing that many exhaust parts?
As long as the cats are there...no emission code lights. I am assuming the x-pipe comes after the cats. Being able to control and keep the valves open at low rpm is key to maximizing the sound experience. I'm leaving my car exhaust stock to start out with using a Capristo remote exhaust valve controller.
You can do it with leaving the cats or you can do it by using the NR software which will allow you to use fairly open cats (I think 100 cell) and the software adjusts the engine tune so no CEL or other lights. I agree its nice to have the valves. I will leave it also - at least to start with.
Yes it still has cats and still has valves in the NR rear silencers, the X pipe is to merge the pipes. You can keep the valves shut at small throttle inputs, cruising and idle which is great if you have neighbours or want to just blend in. I didn't try the standard system with valve control but I believe the NR silencers give a much better tone than the standard system with the valves open. I'll try to shoot some video and start a new thread. Sorry for hijacking this one!
On topic I'm thinking of ordering the F12 M although I am worried about the rear wheel steer corrupting the purity of the drive. What does RWS do on opposite lock for instance? Seems to work quite well on the GT3RS by all accounts so maybe I shouldn't worry... The last Ferrari NA V12 will be quite some thing.
Have you not been paying attention lately? Ferrari are at the top of their game, they're not going to screw it up. it's going to be epic!
FWIW the RWS on my GT3 RS blows. my. mind. And that PDK ain't half bad either. Technology is marching on. I wouldn't worry.
I believe this to be a true concern based on the driver reviews of the F12 TDF. Harris described it well and most will find the system on that car too unstable or unpredictable. If the F12M carries this system my bet is that they will drastically retune the software to take all of the 'edge' out of it.
Been informed the F12M will have a electric motor like on the la Ferrari from main dealer here in the UK.
This is very interesting information as many members here who are very close to Maranello have confirmed NA engin for next F12! Can anyone else confirm anything at this stage?
