As I went to Geneva to pick up my new 550, I couldn't miss on the motorshow. Here are some pics of various interesting cars. My personal favourites of the show (in no particular order): 1) Ferrari Superamerica - love it 2) Maserati MC12 - wow 3) F430 Spider / Coupe - fantastic, want to drive one 4) F575M GTC - my baby 5) Maserati Gransport and Quattroporte - class and performance, I love them 6) Pagani - amazing detailing, now with 620 BHP 7) Koenigsegg - just incredible what these guys have achieved 8) Lamborghini Gallardo / Murcielago with revised, much better interior design 9) Fiat Panda 4X4 (I love it! - if only they made one with 100BHP!) 10) Alfa 159, GT and Brera - gorgeous style and much improved quality 11) Aston Martin - always gorgeous, pity about the naff Ford V8 of the new Vantage. I'd never buy one just because of that. 12) Bentley - nice style, but too heavy for serious driving 13) Rolls Royce - you've got to love the Phantom, it's so outrageous! 14) Lancia - gorgeous 1930 Astura on display Boring: 1) Porsche - all grey cars with grey leather, all locked up, couldn't even open them. Very boring and arrogant display 2) VW - the new Passat? The Golf GTI? Boring boring boring styling, no emotion. 3) Audi - see above + they were all silver/black leather (how imaginative). 4) Toyota - great technology (hybrids, fuel cell, etc.) but boring styling. The day Toyota builds a hybrid/fuel cell car that's as nice as an Alfa Romeo to look at and drive, it's the day they'll conquer the world. 5) All SUVs - they are mostly useless and all look the same 6) Nissan - NO style whatsoever, naff paintjobs to attract teenagers. Only the 350Z saves the day 7) Honda / Mazda - yawn, yawn. 8) Ford - ugly boxy styling, VERY boring. 9) Volvo - boxy styling with loud paintwork - very naff. Neutral: 1) BMW and Mercedes - sure, very nice cars, top quality, but we've seen them all before. The new 3 series is a superb car but not so exciting, just an evolution of usual concepts. 2) Jaguar - always the same "old England" concept. The new F-Type coupe looks like a 1980's styling exercise. 3) The french cars - quirky styling and good diesel engines, but nothing for me.

Fab pics Andrea - the 430 looks gorgeous. (brief hijack, sorry) Markus - you're back? Fancy meeting in St Albans for a mini convoy? 12pm?
I was wondering if the inside of the glass Superamerica roof does not get dirty when the roof is open?
Andrea, do you have any hints for me what could be important visiting Geneva auto show? We changed our minds and drive with the car. That means arrival at about 10 am and leaving time is 6 pm on sunday. Where to park the car, anything else what is car related that we should visit in Geneva? It's the first time I'm going to Geneva. That's why I'm asking. www.car-elite.com
I sent you a PM with my suggestions. I also forgot: to all those who are going to Geneva, it's worth visiting the Automobile Museum which is also located at the PalaExpo next to the motor show. And for a laugh, visit the halls where all the tuning specialists are - some things they do are quite amazing if completely tasteless.
Very nice, thanks Andrea. The idea with Lausanne is pure gold. I'll do that. We have a 5 hours drive down to Geneva, so I'm not interested in calculating an additional hour to it for looking at other peoples braking lights... ;-) www.car-elite.com
