Hi, I'm Kevin Rogers, one of the principals behind the Genoa Motorsports Country Club race track.

    http://www.genoamotorsports.com/

I know there is plenty of speculation in the Denver and Colorado area about a number of race track propositions. Currently, we are the only one with land use permits for race venues (aside from the existing PPIR). I'm sure most know that getting the land use permit has been the killer item for past proposals.

We are a membership track AND for ALL car clubs. We will have at least two circuits that can be run separately (safely). With plenty of room for future expansions to add to the potential variety.

We are very close to announcing our track design team. Our team has actually been on the property and has given us a preliminary design. We feel it important that the track design folks actually walk and drive the property and not design just from a topo. There's nothing like looking at the land and "feeling" how it will "drive". There will be elevation changes, high speed and technical turns and curves and long and short straights throughout the circuits, which can be connected to make one big circuit.

Again, check out our website to see more and keep checking as we update it with new information. Feel free to ask questions.

Thanks for the info, Mr. Rogers...sorry, I couldn't help myself :) Your proposal sounds very similar to what is being planned at PPIR, not a bad thing but I wonder if our market can support two of these type of venues. It's feast or famine around here, evidently.

Derek, welcome to my neighborhood :D :D

I understand your sentiment. We started our project in late 2004 (looking for land) and intentionally stayed under the radar until we had our permits (May 2006). Since then we've been doing all the behind the scenes stuff that needs doing. Now we are at a point where things are far more visual.

In addition to condo/garage facilites for members, our site Has a great view of Pikes Peak and there is a rather large area for "On-Track Estates" that will give a phenominal view of just about the whole track as well as Pikes Peak.

Now to put my sweater on... :D

I don't know enough to pass judgement on either business plan, but I sure hope both can succeed. There is certainly a huge demand vacuum to fill. I'll be looking forward to details on membership costs and features from both venues.

    Good luck to both,
    Dave

I have had the opportunity to volunteer at a couple track events where Kevin was the track marshall. I would feel pretty safe driving at a track that is managed and run by him.

Make that three tracks: Genoa, PPIR and the one being planned at Byers. Some of the car clubs (BMW, Porsche, etc.) have gotten together and have approval from the county to build a track at Byers (about half way between Denver and Genoa). They also have the money and the know-how. I like the Genoa idea and would be interested in buying a membership. But I'm afraid all three tracks may be competing for the same business.

just a slight correction on the CAMA/Byers project, as I understand it. They do not yet have county approval and are starting that process soon.

If Genoa turns out to be anything like Autobahn Country Club, you should be very successful, and it sounds like you are on the right path. Best of luck. Your project looks very exciting.

There was a short announcment on the 6pm news about our track and design. The 9pm news on MY20 was a little over a minute and had more info. Our website now has the full announcement and design layouts.

Nice meeting you at Paragon today and seeing the plans for the track! It is nice to see something getting done about the track shortage in Colorado.
