    Is there a difference between US and European cats?

    Is there a difference between Stradale cats and regular 360 cats?

    1. Yes, cars destined for European markets have different cats (with different part numbers). As far as I know they are not approved for US cars, the Euro cats are actually a few kilo's lighter and freer flowing which contributes to Euro cars having higher power outputs, with better throttle response but consequently (worse emissions) than US cars. Not sure if Euro cats would even pass smog tests in US states like CA. Euro cars also didn't have the pre-cats in the manifolds (headers) nor air-injection from a cold start so the are less restricted and lighter.

    2. No, both the Challenge Stradale and 360 use the same manifolds and catalyzers. In fact many people don't realize it but the CS 'exhaust' isn't really CS specific at all, it was the optional Modena 'Race Exhaust' fitted as standard to the CS.

    Agree there are alternatives but its the rarity factor & if you want your US CS to go faster with OEM parts .... or with a European CS you want a massively cheaper than new replacement;

    I was worried my Euro 360 would not pass in Cali. But the car did pass a test only facility. Car has been smogged and registered here in CA. Now my car was federalized when it came in to the US so unless they changed out the cats I would assume they are the Euro model.
