George Shelley passed away last Tuesday at age 88. George was a long-time Ferrari enthusiast and collector going back to the 1960s, including 0532 and 1627GT. He and I were good friends for the past 25 years or so, and I never knew him to be without a smile, or a joke or story loaded up and ready to tell. His automotive interests weren't limited to Ferraris; he also had Jaguars, a 300SL, Kurtis, Porsches, Indy cars, midget racers, a wonderful Cisitalia, and many others. He was a fixture for many years at Amelia Island and other shows, as well as many tours in the U.S., and the Mille Miglia Storica. George also had an extensive collection of automotive art, books and memorabilia. He will be missed. Sincere condolences to George's family and many friends.
