    Hey guys.

I met a few of you guys at the last Giovanni's meet. I was driving the Shelby GT350 clone.

We're having the Georgia Tech Autoshow again this year on March 12.

This show is generally set aside for students/alumni/corporate show cars, but i have asked the man running the show to allow some exotics in with no connections to GATECH.

Last year, around 100 cars showed up. Everything from vintage porsche racers, a 360GT race modena, a rolex endurance racer, tons of street cars, and more. They even have an off road division, where all the guys in their land rovers do crazy parking jobs on the hills and bricks.

There is no entry fee, but a small donation is appreciated.

I'm not sure how they'll do it this year, but last year, the entrants voted for the winning cars; there were no separate judges.

They're hoping for double the amount of cars this year.

Being that the show is at Tech, you'll find that the crowd is very knowledgable about their vehicles, and its just a grand ole time.

I'm talking to some lotus guys, and if you could spread the word to the italian owners, it would be awesome if we could meet up somewhere about 30 minutes before the show, and take a little collector/exotic car cruise down the interstate into Atlanta. It should start around 9am.

Hopefully we could get a 2-3 loti, 5-6 ferrari, and maybe a maserati or even Lambo!

I'll have a video camera to record it all.

Anyways, i just wanted to wet your appetite a bit.

Hopefully all of you can make it.

I'll have more details as the time approaches.

    Thanks guys.

    ~Chris dos Santos

The date of the show was changed to April 2 for two reasons...

    1) GM could bring some of their concept cars out on this date...

    2) Shell Oil is bringing out a 2001 Ferrari F1 car. They are going to set up some jacks and air wrenches, and let teams of people change out wheels as fast as they can. They'll provide digital photos later on their website. The fastest times will win trophies.

Our keynote speaker is going to be either the guy who designed the chassis for the Ford GT, or the guy who did similar work to the Enzo over in Italy. Both are Georgia Tech grads.

    Does that get your attention?

If you don't come out, you dont know what you'll be missing.

    ~Chris

sounds like fun. I can probably bring a red car if I'm not traveling that week. I might even still have my GaTech student ID from 1991...

I'm a student at GT and I was there last year. There were some neat cars there, especially the 360 that came in the trailor. I know Lamborghini Atlanta has a presence on this board, maybe they'd be interested in bringing a car down to show in addition to a Ferrari that may be there.

I just read your profile, and you have a 6.0! I wouldn't mind if you wanted to show that car (but I'm not running the show)!

    Chris,
Sounds like fun! I sold the Testarossa but I can bring the Maserati Spyder if you still need some Italian iron at the show.

I can probably bring my 328. I work with a bunch of Tech grads and can probably persuade some of them to participate.

There's another car show, in Roswell, on Sunday the 3rd. Looks like a big weekend!

As a GT Grad, I would love to make it to this this year. I went last year as just a spectator. If Sterling is using his standard list, I imagine I will get the updates. Otherwise, I would like to be added.

Thanks so much guys! I'm so excited about this.

The new website will be up in a few days, so i'll give out that update when i get it.

    Keep talking to your friends.

We should be getting a Ford GT, and possibly an original GT-40 to show up. I'm trying my best!

    Thanks again guys!

    Maseratis are absolutely welcomed!

GTScott, what car will you bring? I'm making a list of everyone coming.

Chris, I think you ought to change the date in the title of your original thread to avoid confusing people.

The website has been updated! If you are a graduate, please register for the show.

If you're not a graduate, sit tight, and i'll have details on how we'll meet up and go over to the show a little later.

At our meeting on friday, a graduate from the 60's i believe, brought over his Twin Turbo Pantera he'll be driving over there. Its awesome!

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
