Just read where 66 people have been injured in a 22 car pile up on German Autobahn. You don't hear of this happening very often.

Here's the video from BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8159096.stm (at least a dog was uninjured and dogs are welcome everywhere is Germany)

More than 60 people were injured in a motorway crash involving 259 cars in Germany. The accident happened on the A2 autobahn between Hanover and Peine.

German motorway police said 10 people suffered life-threatening injuries and 21 others were seriously injured in a series of accidents believed to have been caused by a combination of excessive speed and heavy rain.

closure rate can be a real issue driving on the autobahn or autostrada (Italy)

I asked another person here who is in Germany about it and this is what he said:

Near Braunschweig, yes. Thunderstorm, a LOT of rain, but the sun was shining from directly above the horizon through the rain. Slippery road, fog rising from the hot and wet road, and the glaring sun directly in their eyes obviously were too much for most of the drivers...

Sounds like someone thought they were Lewis Hamilton driving on the wet track. Really sad to hear of so many seriously hurt. Again, you don't hear about many accidents like this and wow! to see those pics but, it was rainning...on that note everyone be safe on the wet road today.

More like someone drove like Hambone on a wet track, and left destruction in his path along with himself.
