Hola! I'm finally getting closer to joining the Ferrari family and have been lurking here for some time. Are there any good independent mechanics that fix Fcars here in San Antonio? How has the service experience been at Barrett for you guys? I'm looking for a good 308 GTB or 308 QV GTB now and plan on doing most work on it myself, but it would be nice to have some references for stuff I either can't or don't want to do. Fortunately I only live about five miles from the dealer so if worst comes to worst, professional help is nearby. I've already joined the FCA also so hopefully I'll get to meet some likeminded individuals in the area before long.

Prestige Performance here in San Antonio does a lot of work on Ferrari's. I have a thread in this Texas section that I posted that shows some of the Ferrari's over there. I dont have a Ferrari so I really dont know anywhere other than that.

Pretty neat place, ive heard of it in the past, never really looked into it. It would be cool to check out the shop.

The novitec 360 looks awesome, well you know what happened to the spider one :( but the 550 looks awesome as well..

Do you go once in awhile to their Ruben?

Thanks for the tip about Prestige. I'll definitely keep them in mind. They are also conveniently close to where I live, which will be a new experience. Right now I'm driving a BMW M3 and it only took me one trip to the BMW dealer to figure out how ****ty their service department was. Now I take it to Rhine West over off Broadway where the service guys are outstanding, but it is way across town and they aren't open on Saturdays, which is pretty inconvenient.

I use them as well for my M3. Last time I was there I saw the 550 and the novitec 360. Pretty Nice =)

The service is pretty personal, as they will go over all the details and options available to you. I am sure you guys can check it out for yourselves, and see first hand what I am talking about.

And the owners are well spoken guys as well.

I do go to Prestige pretty often jsut to check out the shop and stuff. I am pretty good buddies with the owner and lead tech there from the days when they were first opening the shop. So I go there to get all my work done on my V-dub as well as just to go and talk with them sometimes. Everyone in my car club gets sent over there though.

I know Rhine West also does BMW's here is San Antonio but be very weary of them. I know I have heard a lot of people say they are pretty good when you are a new customer but they have a way of sticking it to you pretty bad after a while. Supposedly they have no loyalty to their customers. I dont know, I have never met any of the owners/workers and never have been there. All I know is that at least 10-15 of our members have given me bad reports about them.

If any of you all do go there tell him Ruben sent ya'.

and had it looked at , by Barretts Ferrari, and they gave it there 135.00 "once over', told me it need 4 things, equalling 9,000.00...so I bought it, and, brought it home, dropped it off to have the work done,at Boardwalk Ferrari and they found 18,300.00 plus, of work it needed.......so take it to some one ,and make sure they really go through the car...because these cars are not cheap to work on....everything, is 2500.00 ...lol i wish you the best on buying a car...NO car sounds , and drives like a Ferrari....you will love owning this car...its a work of ART.....see you in the fast lane...
