Getting 355 into neutral if paddle shifters are not responding???? HELP

    Hi,
    I just took the car out for a quick spin and the car seemed to drive normal but after parking out of the garage I got in the car and now it will not go into neutral (therefore I can't start it) by hitting both shifters? How can I get the car into the garage???


    If you see this and know the answer, please respond quickly since as we have bad weather coming for a couple days.

    Steve, are you sure you are letting the pump prime enough prior to trying? If the pump light is flashing, you cannot select any gears.

    Some quick thoughts....

    Without hydraulic pressure, the system will not shift.

    Is the pump running and does the gearbox warning light extinguish?

    Check the two large fuses in the foot well.
    Check the F1 relay that is located behind the drivers seat.

    A crazy thought......the battery OK?

    Thanks Dave. Yes, I always let the pump completely prime. After trying about 4 different times, it finally just worked and is now back inside. The car has basically sat the last year so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I am still curious if there is an emergency 'fix' if this happens again and I won't get into neutral.

    Yes, it's the Ferrari tool to disengage the clutch - I have one and we will make them sometime this year. :)

    Once the weather and time permits, I'll be in the garage trying to get to the bottom of this. I'll start with the items mentioned above.

    Steve, this has happened to me a couple of times as well. I suspect its an intermittent issue with the neutral sensor. What I have done to resolve this easily on both occasions is to open the drivers door put my ass up against the door jam and rock it backwards. I remember reading it somewhere and it worked like a charm!

    Check your motor mounts both of you.

    Many many times the motor mounts sag, sagging motor mounts turn into poor mechanical orientation for the actuator thus too much force to shift therefor locked up tranny.

    Shifter guys when it gets real bad notice because of the obvious feed back but us F1 guys its more of a work or do not work.

    This gets overlooked lots.
