What is the deal with emissions? Will they let you pull your own car in? The idea of someone driving my car is not appealing to me.

I did not ask the last time i did a test. However, a senior type guy (manager) came out as the 1st guy was doing the initial data entry and drove the car through the dyno etc. He was pretty darn careful getting into the car and i watched it from the booth. I did not have a problem with it....but then i have also been know to give strangers rides!

You have to have emissions done in Denver....even on a 20 year old car?

We don't down here in the springs.....

The law changed to where 25 year old cars can't even get collector plates so you still need emissions every couple years.

At Emission Stations in Denver, Ferraris (and I'm sure a few other exotics) are not supposed to be run on the dyno. Exhaust sniff test only. That has been the procedure the last two times I had my 348 in. Now I try to find the roadside emission trucks so I don't have to look forward to some monkey crawling around in my car. Last time in the Emission Station the Tech drove the car in, set up the sniff test, and completed it - all ok. Then he turns the car over to a guy that is at least twice my size to drive the car out of the stall! Guy could barley get in the car and could barely close the door. Pissed me off to no end. My recommendation, find the roadside trucks and make sure you get several passes within the 10 month (i believe) window before your plates are due. The $25 bucks gets added to your registration fee but you don't have to go to the station and the monkeys don't get to play in your car.

    just my two cents.

You can definitely pull your own car in, I did. I don't have cats either and all I did was an idle test. My car runs very well and extremely clean. I had no issues...she's a '86 Euro spec 328 GTS.
