Today I was in the local cigar shop hanging out like usual. A guy came in to buy a pipe and tobacco. He and some guys are in our little town from LA because they are going to start shooting a movie with Ray Liotta.

I was wondering how one would get into movies. I think I am going to spend some time around their shooting areas. The guy's name was George; maybe I will see him again and get to ask him some questions. It is all very interesting to me. I would be neat to do some work around the movie sets and learn about it all.

    Work for the studios.

If you don't hate it after a couple of years, you found your calling.

I feel like everyone out here is trying to be an actor..I wish you the best of luck in all your endevors.

It is one of the hardest industries to get into, but the perks are great...

It's just something that seems interesting to learn about. I don't want to be an actor or really work in the industry as a career. Just maybe something fun to work around for a while to see everything that goes into making a movie.

I'm curious if they would allow me to hang around their sets a bit while they are working.

yeah, it'd be good to finally know how a group of 100-500 people can spend $40-200 million and still manage to make something so crap that it's not worth wasting 2 hours of my life to see.

May not be exactly what you are looking for...After having been on the sets of my brothers films I have learned that film making is long, tedious, HARD work and the stress level is rediculous. Everything that can go wrong always does go wrong. That said, my brother loves it...I guess it suits his personality and just not mine.
