Getting my picture taken by camera phones

All the time, man, all the time.

 

Yep, it happens every once in a while. Mostly kids and tourists.

I don't think they focus on the driver though, they are taking a picture of your car. I had several kids ran up the stoplight and snap a pic with a camera phone, another one trying to steady his camera phone using two hands.

A tour guide pointing downwards the tour bus and next thing you know, flash, flash, a bunch of tourists happily snapping away at the car.

Some folks with their video camera, I try to look the other way though, I'm shy... =P

These camera phones are all over. I'm just surprised I never see them on the spotters thread.

My daughter was visiting a couple of weeks ago so I took her down Rodeo Drive in the 348 - every car behind us was using a video camera. I've seen others take pictures when I've been out and once actually had a bunch of thirty-something women in a van ask if they could take a picture when I was sitting next to them.

I don't have a camera phone don't return the favor....

Fun stuff - makes me feel good given that SoCal is a pretty jaded crowd and the 348 is old news....

HEY - Where are the 328's ????

 

I've got an 1986 Countach for sale in front of my location....I park it strategically on the lot entrance by the main road every morning.

In all honesty I never realised how many people had digital cameras in their cars. I can count at least 5-10 occurances PER DAY where people get out and take pics or pose by the car.

Should charge a fee for the privilege....heh.

whenever i park at starbucks people take pictures as they drive by...glad they seem to like to look at the car as much as i.

 

Yep. I remind myself they're photographing the car and not me. Reminds me that I need tinted windows. It'd make for a much better shot!!

I took some phone pics of a red modena in NYC 2 weeks ago but the resolution on the camera phone isn't good enough to post the pics, it's basically just a red blur. The new phones have 1.3mp cameras which should be much better.

 

It happens all the time. I had some idiot in a big SUV tailgating me on Monday morning doing 75 so he coulg get a camera phone pic of my engine from right behind me. Although I am a big believer in brake checks, I just dropped it down 2 gears and accelerated away so he wouldn't kill me.

The worst are people who use a normal camera with a flash as you are driving along the freeway. As if I enjoy being flash blinded.

Happened to me at a gas station. I had a guy come over with a camera phone and started taking a bunch of photos of my 308. I finally said 'Why don't you hand me the phone and I'll get a shot with you beside the car.' He couldn't hand the phone over to me fast enough. Boy, was he excited.

 

It's happened a few times in the 308.

First time I remember it happening I was test driving a Maybach 57 on the interstate and the flash scared the crap out of me.

 

It actually happened to me a few evenings ago, while I was out with the wife. Kinda eerie..in an Orwellian sort of way.

 

several times an hour in the F40 or the Slutmobile in SoBe

 

My girlfriend insisted on stopping at a local garage sale (in my red/tan 308gtsqv)
The lady holding the garage sale RAN up to me and asked if she could have her picture taken next to the car, then sitting in the drivers seat. She said she couldn't wait till her boyfriend came home from his trip, so she could tell him all about it.
(just received the car 3 weeks ago from a great guy in Texas)
"spiderseeker" finally found one !
Everytime I look at it in the garage, I just smile and shake my head in disbelief. (waited 28 years to get one, worth waiting every minute for)
