UPDATE: I have been working with a manufacturer to look at making these caps and have my info to proceed. If you refer to the previous posts all the info is there but here is a re-cap (no pun intended): - Perfect to original or nothing - Style B is the one we will make - UPDATE: Pricing should be about $100 for a set of 4 ($25 each) I'm not asking for money but want to know how much REAL interest is there to buy these. Have yourselves known and how many sets you would want.
The numbers are picking up. Luckily every car uses 4 which helps keep the price reasonable as tooling is terribly expensive.
Just gauging real interest right now and will contact everyone when the finished products are ready. What I will say is that a lot of people talk about getting back ups but they fail to realize how old their existing caps actually are. Once replaced the new ones will really brighten up any wheel. I have yet to see a Dino with nice original caps. They are ALL crazed and cracked over time.
I have very good originals. Will you be able to tell original from this batch? I agree, color/condition goes down over time (depending on storage conditions). Bright / new sounds good to me if they look original. I'm in for two sets... as long as the price is not silly stupid high.
I see you have not read our previous posts. Just to bring you up to speed: 1. They will be perfect reproductions. We have an NOS cap we are modelling of of and the part we make is to be indistinguishable from original. 2. Cost looks to be $100 for 4 ($25 each). When was the last time you bought Dino parts that cheap. We are working with an OEM manufacturer and will introduce modern materials to give better fade resistance and strength without affecting the looks.
Been offline for awhile, but glad I decided to get caught up and checked this thread. I'll take (2) sets, please.
Rob, put me down for one set of four, if you would. I assume you have a list going. PM when you are ready. Marc
