21341 400GT Hello all bit of a milestone today got some paint on the car. I am painting 'Canna De Fucile' (Gunmetal Silver) Was originally black but am comfortable that its fair to repaint in a Ferrari colour. So far down to bare metal, filling stopper 1K self etch high build then going with 1K solvent based basecoat and clear coats. Engine instalation awaits completion of this , but certainly feels good to be edging closer. Regards Alastair Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You are going to have a very nice car. Glad there are people out there willing to invest in these great cars. Keep posting pics of the process.
I just wanted to say thank you for doing all of this work on your car. These cars are way too cool to go to waste.
Alastair, hopefully you'll get your car back on the road soon - maybe then we can arrange a meet somewhere between drab old boring Scotland and beautiful sunny lovely London. You never know, maybe some (or all?) of the other UK based 365/400/412 members will join us and we can get an annual/Bi-annual gathering of our much loved (well, by us lot anyway!!) Ferrari's going. Anyone fancy the idea ? I know Alastair and I do. All the best mate, keep up the good work Russ
I Scottish mate of mine moved to London years ago cool guy Dave his name , after a few years I was chatting on the phone to him one day and he came out with a classic 'What do you guys do up there?' I replied oh nothin really just knitting and chasing sheep, roaming around the hills with cans of superlager shoutin abuse a folks. All good fun. At moment just between the colour and clear coats on the boot so all happening, thanks for the moral support we will get there. On the idea of a 400 meet yep ime in ok then lets do it wouldnt it be a great event to meet all us a wee celebration. Good man Alastair
you've got a long, long way to Al, but keep the faith, she's worth it. your choice of colour will look fantastic out in the real world ! good luck, brett
AK thanks your right, the 400s are very cool indeed. I cant wait until I get her back on the road again, though the challenge of refurb is satisfying, the pleasure of driving this car is fabulous, thats what keeps me going. Regards Alastair
