I ALWAYS ask an owner if its okay to take a photo of their vehicle. It just seems like to proper/polite thing to do. And then THANK them for letting me take the pics...and move on about my business. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Not much of attention driving my white 458 speciale in nyc, always street parked in Soho or Meatpacking dist. The car gets more respect in Greenwich or Manhasset. Lots of salty comments by hippie like: my mazda is better than this. Gwagon seems gets a lot more attention in the city.
A pearl yellow Diablo Roadster gets massive attention, no matter the venue.....and all of it is positive.
Actually they don't. I'm talking 99% of the general public cannot tell you what a Lambo is from a Ferrari from a McLaren. Trust me, I've owned them all and pull into a gas station and all people see cool car--have no clue. First question they ask "what kind of car is that". YMMV.
McLarens are less well known to the general public since it is a relatively new brand. Not so for Lamborghinis.
Lotus Evora S Ice White -loads of attention, huge head turner on street, lots of people coming up and asking questions, etc. RIP Evora. Curious how the incoming Emira will stack up Aston Martin DBS Jet Black -Pretty stealth, occasional "nice car" Ferrari F430 Grigio Titanio -Had occasional people try to race, a few people coming up at gas stations. (Sidenote: the one the gf likes the most) Huracan EVO RWD Spyder -Arancio Atlas lots of attention, but mostly when it's on the move or when parked and I'm not there. Haven't had nearly as much people approach me as in the Evora or F430. But of all four it by far gets the most pictures/videos/selfies though I'm generally in my world and focused on driving or what's going on in my head, but overall good vibes. Also loads of supercars here, in the summer it's hard to drive somewhere and not see a handful of exotics so it's not as big of a deal here I want to say
Take the attention as it comes, feel lucky, stay humble, don't take the bait, be an ambassador for the car/brand and enjoy the ride.
No one cares in Miami. In any given day you'll see an assortment of Bugatti's, Pagani's, La Ferraris. 488, F8, 458 are as common here as Porsche is any other well to do area. I think I speed up and admire more often than I realize but that's because I'm a car guy. Most people are glued to their phones or trying to dodge the crazy Miami drivers.
Positives first, a lot of thumbs up from kids for the red Scuderia. I always ask if they want to sit in the driver‘s seat. These smiles are priceless and remind me of my childhood. Not that I would care, but a lot of middle fingers from adults. This is in Switzerland. Going over to Germany, even more middle fingers. With the global warming and electrification, there will be even more middle fingers going forward.
Can't imagine regularly encountering such overt petty hate. How misinformed, miserable, and unjustly righteous can one be?
