Around here I get a lot of kids videoing me while driving along side. Nothing negative really. Except some disgusted looks by bicyclers while I power around them at high rpm.

The hardcore cyclists in my area much enjoy the sound and the speed as long as I am careful and respectful around them. I am, always.

In Atlanta there are a lot of exotics but the F8 seems to be a real star of the show. The kids go nuts. I am spending a small fortune on F8 model cars which I give out to kids at gas stations and other stops I make. They love it.

I lived in Miami for years and never once saw a single Bugatti or Pagani.

I was on a date recently and this lady kept telling me how she gets attention and gets pics taken wherever she goes ....never once realising that it was the car and that's an everyday normality for me nowadays ! Couldn't help but smile

One recent negative occurrence: Driving my triple giallo Pista through Valley Forge National Park. Normal speed and rev range. 60-plus year old granola gatherer on the side of the road approaching to cross in an area not designated for such. Notices me and raises and waves his hand to get my attention. When I look, he gives an animated thumbs down. On cue, I gave him one finger up. Followed by a downshift bark and then a nice, long sonic wind up of the tach. His jaw dropped, angry and disbelieving that someone could so blatantly harm the environment in his presence. Damn yellow sports cars!

    Meanwhile in Korea...

RC 488 GTB. Bought it June 2020.

Soon after I bought the car, I bought 4 Bburago model 488s and kept them in the trunk to give away to kids who ran up to the car (as I'm sure we all did!).

14 months and 7,000 miles later, I still have 2 models in my freaking trunk! People here - even kids - are far too shy and restrained to interact with the car, however much they like it. The 2 models I did give away were to a couple of kids who I spotted admiring the car from an adjacent table at a restaurant. I invited them to sit inside, but too shy...

Very occasional thumbs up from old dudes.

Only one instance of dick-measuring, when I passed a Tesla Model 3 and apparently wounded the poor driver's pride (he engaged in some truly idiotic and reckless driving to try and keep up).

The best thing here is cruising with the windows down. People play it cool when it comes to the car, but the wide-eyed look of shock and confusion when they see a whiteboy driving a Ferrari is priceless.

On a very positive note, I have become friends with 3 police officers who have noticed my cars in their territories on early morning weekends. As a resuIt, I have upcoming ride-alongs with each of them. "Reverse" ride alongs. In my car, not theirs! :D:cool:

Interesting thread… So far, all of the responses or comments I’ve received from people have been very positive. Lots of thumbs up (even from LEO’s), people stopping to take pictures/video, positive comments whilst getting petrol and even, whilst stopped in traffic.

When I bought my ‘15 458 Italia a year and a half ago, I drove it home from the dealer in an epic 878 mile, eighteen and a half hour drive . All along the way, people had very positive responses. Tons of people were hanging out of their cars to get photos (I stopped counting them when I got to 75).

I was mobbed at petrol stations, as everyone would stop filling their own cars to come over and chat about my 458. Even a Lamborghini mechanic (still had his dealer uniform on) came over and chatted… Nothing but positive comments!

There is something special about all Ferrari’s… There are lots of exotics, supercars and uber luxury cars in our area. But we all check out each other’s
rides at stoplights and intersections. I have yet to have a single negative comment, or gesture in eighteen glorious months of ownership.

From little lads in strollers to older blokes, women and everyone in between, it’s been very positive in every respect!

    Cheers!

I was pulled over by the Secret Service uniformed police in DC in front of the White House a few months back. The cop walks up to my car and first thing he says is “that’s my dream car” and asked if he could take a picture sitting in it. I said sure, but you need to take off your belt with gun, cuffs, and everything else that’ll scratch and mar my Italian leather seats. He obliged and I took the pic and made his day. He gave me a secret service commemorative coin, which was neat. I keep it in the car.

In my 812SF I get very minimal attention. I personally wanted the spec to be incredibly subtle so I could be out and enjoy the car without getting gobs of attention. My local dealer has a Blue Corsa F8 Spider demo car that I took out for a day, and that was the opposite experience. Everywhere I went, lots of pictures, lots of people wanting to talk to me, all 100% positive. I've got an F8 spider going into production soon and I anticipate it to get a lot more attention than my 812SF.

An 812SF is my next dream Ferrari… It will be the perfect stablemate to my V8 458 Italia. I’ve always dreamed of getting a V12 Ferrari and the 812SF ticks all of my boxes. Thanks for your comments!

    Cheers!

Here in NY I now avoid certain areas where I previously felt comfortable to drive around in- no it’s not the crime- it’s the sour puss eyes of masked pedestrians whose envy is palpable. Upper west side, the village and SoHo, meat packing district are no go areas where you risk getting your car keyed. Forget about Brooklyn,Queens or the Bronx the parents there see your car as the an oxygen sucking CO2 producing leech that is stealing their kids future, unless of course you are an entertainer or ball player, then it’s okay.
There are still a few areas in the tristate you can go and feel comfortable- the Hamptons, parts of Westchester, Greenwich etc.
Thumbs up still happen but not as often as it use too. Welcome to the post COVID world of globalization and expected conformity of the new western world order.
Maybe one day Ferraris will be totally electrified and I will probably be in a nursing home reminiscing of the Ferraris of days past but I intend to get my kicks in before I do.
