I bought three of these when I was finding cars (back in the '80s). It seemed most had a automatic though I heard the first one had a manual shift. I never read any interview of Burt Sugarman, the TV producer (Midnight Special) who imported them and who even owned the name Ghia in America (I think Ford had to buy it back to use the name ).
I would think he would have kept one but then the only car I saw that he owned was a Rolls Royce Phantom V James Young limo with a big rose painted on the trunk lid (comment on what? Rosebud?)
Was the car well engineered? I don't think I drove any of the ones I bought. I think I paid about $30,000 for the last one but have no idea of what they go for now.
The part I didn't like was the resemblance of the nose to 1971 Ford Torino, maybe Ford copied Ghia?

Sugarman was an interesting person. From TV into public corporation businesses. Giant Corporation which does/did have Rally's fast food.

There was one highlighted just today on Denis Gage's My Classic Car TV show-a manual, by the way.

I have seen pictures in black & white of a light colored one that had different taillights than the production cars, maybe hand made and larger. Usually small automakers try to find taillights from another car that have already been approved so they don't have to submit a new design from approval (for instance Iso GRifos use Alfa or Lancia taillights)
