I'm considering removing the center console on my 69 Ghibli, so I can better insulate the tunnel area of the car. Any comments or hints on the removal procedure will be appreciated.
    Thks.

Remove the seats. Screws which secure the console to the floors will now be accessible.

    Ivan,
Thank you. I'll follow the screw trail.

I'm going to also do this when I get my car back from the shop. There seems to be quite a bit of heat coming from the center console area. Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions for materials?

I like Dynamat. While the seats are out you should also put it on the rear floors.

while on this subject, will ceramic coating the tubular headers make a worthwhile decrease in the heat coming through the console?
