Hello, I am rebuilding the engine of my 1972 Ghibli 4.9SS and need the dimensions/tolerances of the crankshaft journals, pistons, etc. I am told the Quattroperte III manual is not usable since its 4.9 V8 engine is all different.
Anyone have this information or can help me find it?
    thanks!

The demensions and tolerances in the QPort manual are Ok to use. There are some very small differences from some information I have that is 30 years old. For example the Q Port manaul lists the std bore for a 4.9 as 93.9mm +- .01mm and the piston dia as 93.84-93.86 depending on the engine. So if the engine is measured at 93.91mm the piston should be93.85-93.86mm. The old info I have lists the bore as 93.9mm. THe piston clearance for the factory pistons is much tighter @ .04-.06mm than for aftermarket pistons. So if you are buying after market pistons you should use the clearance recommended by the piston mfg.
The main bearings and rod bearings are very close and the clearances are correct and are in line with other engine mfg clearances.
