    As what has become a family tradtion between my brother and I, each year we plant and hope for more and bigger pumpkins. This year I went across the street and planted some Big Max variety pumpkin seeds. Not much happened for weeks and even a couple months....but then suddenly the patch came to life and we now have about 25 HUGE pumpkins. And so it goes:

    Cost for Big Max pumpkin seeds $8
    Cost of gas to run the roto-tiller $12
    Cost of some amendment & fertilizer $30
    The look on your daughers face when she discovers huge pumpkins in our own garden PRICELESS

    Let me know if you have any problems getting rid of those.. I've got a ton of kids in my neighborhood who would appreciate it! (if the older ones don't blow it up, that is..)

    Chris,

    That pumpkin weighed 92.5 pounds. From the ground, given it's wide & awkward shape....it was almost impossible to lift. I'd challenge any kid in your neighborhood to even lift one up!

    Most those pumpkins are well spoken for, we're having a halloween party and you can well imagine the destiny of the P-kins.

    Hmmm Ferrari = F-ride
    Pumpkin = P-kins why not
