Yup, already discussed here at length. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/gilles-villeneuve-308-for-sale.568752/
Oh man, one of the best threads I have ever seen anywhere... and I am on page 2... He was my hero when I was a little kid. Loved watching him race. He was not the best F1 driver of all time... in my books that is Senna. However...... IMO he was the FASTEST driver of all time. Give him any piece of machinery and tell him GO and he would be straight away incredibly fast. Crazy talent.
The best F1 driver of all times is such a subjective matter. However, there is no denying that Gilles was a great, colorful, memorable and yes.....legendary driver. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Should anyone have missed it, the 1978 312T3 was on display and on the track this week-end at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve dunring the Canadian GP. Driven by his son Jacques. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bj4nBdWhe0S/ Forward to 6:21 in the YouTube video.
I think I read where it was Joann's idea to have the car at the event. I think it would have been very appropriate to let her present the winners trophy too, especially considering the result. I think Sebastian very much appreciated the added significance of winning his 50th GP at this venue on the 40th anniversary of Gilles maiden win.
Indeed, it would have been quite a "full circle" moment if Joanne was presenting the winner's trophy on the podium. https://www.instagram.com/p/BjoCpIrD6jy/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
