Guys am up for night out, Friday night or weekend best for me.

Dave, The starter motor is certainly a mass produced one. It will be off another car of some sort. The serial number from the starter and go to a independent Motor Electrical Outlet. They will tell you what it is. Thats if you need a new one.

The most common problem with the starter motor is that the ternminal and wires connecting onto the starter dry out and crack.
best to get the wiring and terminals check first.

I had the same problem on my Maserati. I took the starter out and wired it to the battery direct and starter was clicking on and off. If does this its proof the internal of the starter are OK and its only the wiring or terminals that need renewing. No big deal. Easy to do.

The starter on the 348's are located lower downnext to clutch housing next to the exhaust. Heat is the big problem for starters.

North Wales has always proved totally brilliant on the bikes. Before mr plod became 'serious' it was always tremendous fun.
I know of log cabin site in the centre of north wales, near Bala. Alternatively, i could organise 'secure' accomodation in the seaside village of New Quay (no, not that one), about twenty miles south of Aberystwyth.
The A44 from Llangurig to Aberystwyth is not to be missed.
    Cheers for now, d

Without, or it's not a lads n cars do is it?

If it is an overnighter so we can take advantage of alcohol and anyone else who'll let us, then I would have thought you would need somewhere where the bars are at least a little bit lively?

Friday the 29th I will be attending to the wife ;) as it is her birthday!

I think I've found a place for next evening meet, trendy bar in Alderley Edge (Manchester) with parking - I'll check it out this weekend and let you know.

As for the overnighter - if we find a quiet isolated hotel/B&B in the Lakes or somewhere just as remote then the bar normally stays open as long as you want.

As someone had previously quoted it's a drive out and therefore we should drive a bit.

Lakes, North Wales, Midlands, Northumbria ????
I thought North Wales would be more suitable regarding an invitation toward our southern colleagues ?
Perhaps we should enquire as to whether anybody from the south wishes to join us ?
I agree .... somewhere in "the sticks" would probably prove more 'secure', informal and liberal, re licensing hours.
Al, could you manage the saturday (30th)?

Once Al's back from his Eurohoon we'll arrange a Friday night out around Manchester - probably in a couple of weeks - lets pencil in the 15th Oct and see how that fits with everyone ?

And then we'll do an overnighter say in late November or December to celebrate Xmas.

How does sound for a plan ?

    Rick

PS Not forgetting the go-karting this Monday.
