The April event is set for 4/15 . this time it starts at 4:00 and will start at 4:00 for the rest of the summer. you guys know the drill. Giovanni's 3630 Peachtree Parkway Suwanee 30024 770-232-1122. and dont forget to bring a framed picture of your car so Vinny can hang it up with everyone elses in the lobby. this past Giovanni event was great and was a ton of fun. hopefully we can make the April event even bigger that the March event. Brian
I will ask Vinny to start pipping in music for our show, maybe a litle Sinatra while we sip fine Italian Vino ??? plus, now that the days are longer and warmer, we can all eat outside on their patio and listen to fine music, drink some wine and talk cars... fun fun. Vinny als said he has a guitar player that plays soft classy music, maybe we can prop her up in the corner and play some nice music while we dine and watch the sunset.. ? oh the posibilities we have.. Its gonna be a great summer.
Do you guys get together every weekend starting 4/15 ??, I would like to bring my 246 spider, Is it about Italian cars or just Ferraris..!! I have never been and I dont much about it...would you let me know, thanks
It's usually the third Saturday each month, and it covers all "exotics", not just Italian ones. Largest contingents are usually Ferrari, Lotus and Porsche, but at times we also get Alfas, Aston Martins, Cobras, Corvettes, DeLoreans, de Tomasos, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Morgans and Triumphs. But I don't recall a Dino. Your 246 would be most welcome!
If coming from the T Rutlands event, what is the easiest way to get to Giovanni's? Back to 285 to 400 to Windward Pkwy?
The shortest distance from Rutlands to Giovanis is: Jimmy Carter west to 141, 141 north to Giovanis... (make sure you stay to the left at the Peachtree Parkway / Peachtree Industrial split) Not the scenic route and in rush hour not the least time, but on Saturday afternoon it should be clean sailing and between 20 to 35 minutes travel. After Giovanis.... Go 141 south.. 1st light make a right, which is McGuiness Ferry (also the south end of the shopping Plaza Giovanis is in) right again about 2 short lights ( for some reason McGuiness does this) this is still McGuiness Ferry.......Mcguiness Ferry to Winward Parkway (can only turn left as this is where Winward dead end "T's". There's a stop light there. Don't have to go anywhere near 285 or the 400. (Thank God) JD
A couple of notes: for the unaware, Mountain Industrial Blvd, the road that passes by the industrial park where Rutlands is located, becomes Jimmy Carter Blvd. Now, when you get up to Peachtree Industrial, you can't get directly onto Peachtree Pkwy. You have to turn right just before the underpass, get on Peachtree Industrial, then make the first left onto Holcomb Bridge Rd. From there you turn right on Peachtree Pkwy and continue north. I know that sounds confusing, but it's the only way. If the traffic on Jimmy Carter (which gets heavy near I-85, probably even on Saturday) seems worth avoiding, a weekend alternative is to take LaVista Road from Tucker west to I-285, take that north to Peachtree Industrial, and go north on Peachtree Industrial (which is a freeway at that point) to the split onto Peachtree Pkwy. It's longer distancewise but somewhat less frenetic, at least on a weekend.
Giovanni's will def. be after Rutland's. Everyone is invited and ask your friends to come out. I will be driving something up to Giovanni's if anyone wants to follow me. To add to the list this month our new TVR will be there!
and bring a framed picture of your car so it can be hung with the other Giovani car club photos inside Giovanni's. a Dino will be a nice treat. Brian
Appreciate the directions. There's nothing worse than fumbling with a map in your old Ferrari, worrying about somebody running into you and not knowing where to go. Thanks, Drew
guys, it looks like we will have yet another steller month at Giovanni's . I think we would hit the 40 + car mark again. anyone know the gentlemen with the Daytona coupe ? he brings that beauty out from time to time. with the dino, the 355's, the 430, the 360's, the 348's, the 328's, the 308, the Daytona, and possibly Frank and his Boxer, that alone will set us into new standards of car show gatherings. I also know a bunch of 911's, 930's, a Cayman, several Loti, a Maserati or 2, a Lambo or 2, some Alfa's. call me crazy, but I do believe we have the best damned monthly car show in the state, hell the south for that matter. the food is great, the cars are awesome, the car guys are the best and we have all made good friendships at the monthly event. its the best monthly car show in the south. Brian
For anyone who wants it, here's Mapquest's version of the route from Rutlands to Giovanni's: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?do=nw&go=1&r=f&aoh=&aot=&aof=&1a=5242%20Royal%20Woods%20Pkwy%20%23%20150&1c=Tucker&1s=GA&1z=30084&1y=US&1l=tkLMefivY7s%3d&1g=vQ00d9c969g%3d&1pn=T%20Rutland%27s%20Inc&1pl=770%2d493%2d8852&1v=ADDRESS&1ffi=1&1n=&1qn=T%2e%20Rutlands&2a=3630%20PEACHTREE%20PKWY&2c=SUWANEE&2s=GA&2z=30024%2d6049&2y=US&2l=ZX2OKSY3wzY%3d&2g=%2fe%2fiv2FKIds%3d&2pl=&2v=ADDRESS&2ffi=&2n=FORSYTH%20COUNTY&2qn=Giovanni%27s&panelbtn=2&1qc=Automobile%20Racing%20Car%20Equipment&q=T%2e%20Rutlands&2pn=Giovanni%27s&2sb=Giovanni%27s%7c3651%20Peachtree%20Pkwy%20%23%20F%7cSuwanee%7cGA%7c30024%7c340712%7c%2d841667%7c770%2d232%2d1122%7cUS&2qc=%28All%29%20Restaurants
I made a flyer! Feel free to copy it and hang it at your workplace or wherever. I chose 8 PM as a closing time, since most will be leaving or will have left by then, even though some may choose to stay longer. The list of "other marques" is based on those I remember having seen there at least once, and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Image Unavailable, Please Login
wonderful job Jim. we have the right to turn away junk too. anything that doesnt meet the standard of TRUE SPORTS CAR can be turned away if it is belw our standards of elegance, class, and pure sports car . we do not want junk, rap blasting thumping music, nor do we want 4 door Honda accords with bit rear wings. we want stylish, classy and a taste of elegance. period. Brian
Hi Brian, We're bringing a Daytona coupe. I think Steve A may have brought this car before when we had it in Atlanta, not sure. Thought of bringing the Boxer to show Frank Parker what a real Boxer (carbed vs. injected wars) is like but the Daytona is clean and Boxer dirty so the choice was easy. Look forward to meeting you and the rest of the crew. We are going to go to the Rutlands event then check into a hotel close to the Perimiter. What time do people usually arrive? And do they generally have dinner there or just socialize and go out later? Regards, Drew Altemara
Mr.Altemara, Can't wait to see the Daytona again. It is a great looking car. See you at Rutland's. Alex
