Who have interest in the story of Alfa on the Giro ? Giro d Italia was a race like the Tour de France. It was a mix between track and rally stages

Ahhh...one of my all time favorites. There's a photo ot two in Ed McDonough's T33 book as well. Tom, thanks for making me smile!
Sorry but cannot post new photos as my allocation is full and as I don t use a anonym other pseudo, I cannot post the photos. What I was going to show was that the Giro d Italia was a unique event as cars was use on track and rally stages and that because it s ITALIA, they was always unique car like all the specials italian cars like the Alfa 75 IMSA, when you read the pre event, they claims that the car had 285CV when in reality, the prototypes run had minimum 430 CV and 965 Kg, then of course , they destroy the competition in 1988 and 1989

Giro d Italia was incroyable, it was like the Christmas cake for the Italians. a 33 On the street ? They built special prototypes just for the Giro
Thanks for the links with many nice pictures. As far as I know, there was a race prewar called Giro d'Italia, for standard cars, I seem to remember raced in the late thirties. Of course it had not a fraction of the appeal of the Mille Miglia, which was the true event of those years, and whose popularity remained unchallenged up to the present days. Post war, I understand that in the mid sixties, the event was called Trofeo Jolly Hotels - Giro d'Italia. Many entrants, including Alfas, of course, such as TZs and GTAs, but also many Ferraris and even a rare ASA 1000. Alfas: Ferraris: Asa:
