I have a question that I would like to share with you guys that have 1:18 resin models in your collections... I have a lot of these cars in my collection which I keep in their shipping boxes since I don't have enough room to display them. However just recently I pulled out a few of my MG Models Plus Ferraris to look at them at which I noticed a few of them, one corner or even both corners of the front and rear windows have popped loose. Even some of the exhausts and other parts came free from under the cars probably due to the weight of the castings. So far it’s just with the MG Models Plus Ferraris and not with any of my BBR’s cars just yet or would I eventually will experience this with my BBR’s too?

Since I paid dearly for the models, I’m very disappointed when I saw this, keep in mind that I store them in a cool dry place, no sunlight. So why did the glue failed, or maybe there’s too much tension on the clear plastic that the manufacture used for glass. I would also think resin manufactures will actually mold the clear plastic in the form of the body contour and not use sheets of clear plastic which is then cut to fit. Anyone would like to comment on this?

yes I have problems with one or two of my MDF RESIN MODELS,
exhausts pipes falling of and side windows popping out,
mine are on display, so im wondering if they if the glue/resin
that was used is of poor quality, I did contact the the shop where
I bought them but it would be a hassle to send them back to Italy
and get them replaced, so I just and reglued the exhaust back on
and eased the windows back into place.
I have not bought a resin model in about 3 years
I will stick with diecast for the moment cheaper and if they break easier to replace.
