I wish him success, building cars seems to me to be a daunting task. I do think this sort of spec built niche car will be more common in the future as 3D printing and other technologies drive down the cost of bespoke creations.
Jim is nothing more than a hardcore car guy who loves Ferraris. All his projects have been super modern and no expense spared, so I was surprised to see this. I am sure no expense will be spared in this car either. I do think it would be cool if it was a more modern design that tied in with 003 but it really is a different animal. What is interesting is that it looks like this new car will even drive like a vintage car. No paper thin rubber here.
Jim posted some hardtop renderings as well. The inspiration is pretty clear. Personally, I’d like to see him get some cars sold from the 004S project before doing other things. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fixed it for ya... I'm sorry this one I just don't get at all. If you're going to make something better than the original make it better than the original. This has kit car written all over it. At least his other concept, even though derived from other cars , still had a reason for being. It looks like the Kelmark GT version of 250 GTO's. It even has the same grill. I see Intermeccanicca and Devin in this, but can't love it. I guess it's easier to criticize though, but the side-pipes look awful IMHO.
eeek. it would be cool for a video game but i think he needs to start going his own direction away from ferrari....

I don't like a forced induction engine, an itb equipped high winding na motor would be a lot better suited imo. That with the rear exit exhaust would be pretty cool. Those side pipes aren't pretty.
He said the exhaust was inspired by the 1961 Corvette Mako Shark concept car. (by designer Larry Shinoda and Bill Mitchell) He has also stated on Facebook that he will make the exhaust however customer wants. more from his FB: https://www.facebook.com/ScuderiaCameronGlickenhaus/ Ordering information. just to complete the list of SCG cars: (these 2 were built prior to creation of 'SCG' brand and were never dubbed SCG, but it's how Jim arrived at SCG 003) SCG001 (2006), aka Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina (Enzo based, inspired by '60's Ferrari P cars) https://www.caranddriver.com/features/pininfarina-ferrari-p4-5-feature SCG002 (2009), aka the P4/5 Competizione (based on Ferrari F430 Scud & GT2) https://www.motor1.com/news/31726/p4-5-competizione-claims-ferrari-powered-nurburgring-lap-record/ https://p45c.com/the-garage/p45-competizione/ check out his 'Garage' section and PLEASE leave out any comments about his P3/4 '0846'. I like 003 and 004 a lot. Jury still out on the 006. But 003 Stradale is up there with the most beautiful cars i have (yet) to see.
Me too. I like the retro-modern concept and wish Ferrari would do more of it. The 456 and 550 were both retro-modern designs based on the 365GTB and 365GTC/4 respectively.
