That is one heavily optioned coupe. I have not seen one at 180k, and it states it does not include taxes/fees, etc.

Yep.....CAD $ prices and what must be a literal pile of options, but according to the article, no freight, or the 12% tax in Ontario was included.......ugly wheels too......

I have pictures somewhere of the remnants a brand new 1995 Porsche 993 C2 coupe that was wiped out by a Canadian Porsche dealership owner's son back in 1994 in Spain during a worldwide week long dealer intro driving session. It happened right in front of me at 180 KMH on the highway near Malaga........he stood on the gas in the heavy rain on a sweeping banked corner as he pulled out to pass, hydroplaned, and flipped end over end about 5-6 times. Walked away completely unharmed save for a very large brown stain on the back of his pants. The PAG guys flat decked the car body back to the resort we were staying at and posed for a picture in front of it, but not before writing "TEAM CANADA 11/94" on the hood with lipstick. The next time you find yourself in Ottawa at Mark Motors (their Porsche dealer) ask for Michael Mrak, who is now the GM/dealer principal there and get him to tell you his story........

A BMW service manager where I used to work accidentally did this to a customer's car with the client standing right beside him. He reached in to shut off the nearly new 5 speed 525i sedan, and as he turned the key to do so hit the shifter, popped it into gear, and the car launched thru the glass overhead shop door....which happened to be marked in 1' high blue letters....."CAUTION DRIVE THRU".......the service manager was a pompous azz who thought he knew it all, which made it even all the better.....

We had a yellow crash helmet which got passed around from employee to employee at a special staff party every time something like this happened......which was about every 8-12 months. You had to keep it on your desk or credenza on display until you got to pass it on to someone else. Virtually EVERYONE showed up for his award night.

Does "pulling out of the garage either before the door is up, or closing it
before fully out" qualify as a CRASH? Looks like someone did something REALLY
    dumb here...

Can't imagine it will be too terribly much to fix...

    Per article:

Which on that car is probably the right side mirror and a tube of touch-up paint...and poop stain remover for the driver's seat. :D

It's the fault of the journalist by giving the keys to his son for a car that he doesn't even own. Nice one. He also knew his son doesn't know how to drive stick yet lets him get in a car that is probably left in gear. Oh well. Hopefully he isn't allowed to test anything more than a Kia from now on.

As far as the TT, it's no real loss. Porsche will make a million of them and they will be worth $10 grand in a few years (exaggeration). It's not like he crashed a McLaren F1.

What kind of crappy neighborhood do they live in? Geez. There's even graffiti on the garage doors there.

I thought Porsche's could pierce through metal...

Time to blame it on the automatic garage door opener!!
